Sept. 25, 1999

Sadly, I still haven't had a chance to do any observing yet. There is a lot going on right now and it's taking up all my time.

School started back up, and I started my new job. We are also buying a house and hope to close in the next 2 weeks. Since we are going to have the house, our next big  purchase is a Meade 10" LX200 telescope! Hopefully I'll have it by Christmas but it might take a little longer.

The house has a nice view of the west. It will be much more convenient to carry the scope a few feet from the house and setup outside instead of having to haul everything down from our apartment. There are some nice trees around the property that should really help cut down on stray light.

Now, all I need is a CCD camera. I've pretty much decided to get an SBIG ST7 since the ST8 is way out of my price range. The ST7 still gives me autoguiding while imaging at the same time, something the ST6 does not do.

Comet Lee passes just above the Double Cluster tonight and I'm hoping the skies will clear here in Minnesota so I can see it. The Double Cluster is, in my opinion, one of the best objects in the sky. Seeing Comet Lee paired with it should be great.
